Dr. Kevin Shorner-Johnson

Kevin Shorner-Johnson received his undergraduate degree in music education from Northwest Missouri State University and his masters and doctorate from the University of Georgia. Dr. Shorner-Johnson taught high school, middle school, and elementary band in Greenfield, Iowa and Athens, Georgia. His research interests include instructional design, the development of instructional technology for music education, international perspectives on music education, and music education philosophy. Dr. Shorner-Johnson serves at Elizabethtown College as the director of music education. He supervises student teachers, instructs world musics, and teaches sequential coursework on music education history, philosophy, curriculum design, law, and general music methods. Dr. Shorner-Johnson resides in Elizabethtown with his wife Amy (assistant chaplain at Elizabethtown College) and daughter Leah.
