I teach biblical studies at Elizabethtown College, my alma mater<\/em>. After completing my BA in Religion and Philosophy at Elizabethtown, I studied at Bethany Theological Seminary<\/a>, where I graduated with an MATh. After Bethany, I moved to southern California for a doctoral program at Claremont Graduate University<\/a>. While at Claremont, I worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Antiquity and Christianity <\/a>and spent nine months in T\u00fcbingen, Germany, working at the Institut f\u00fcr \u00f6kumenische Forschung.<\/a><\/p>\n

At Elizabethtown College, I have served as chair of the Department of Religious Studies and as Dean of Faculty. I have been active in the Society of Biblical Literature <\/a>and currently serve on the editorial board
\nof the Believers Church Bible Commentary <\/a>series, published by Herald Press.<\/p>\n

My current research focuses upon the biblical book Song of
\nSongs. I am especially interested in the reception history <\/a>of Song of Songs and other biblical literature.\u00a0 In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family as well as reading, listening to classical music (especially to J.
