Good afternoon Dr. DeGoede,
I will never be able to thank you enough for allowing me to go to The Gambia and to change our itinerary to meet with the scouts. Camp Squanto (Plymouth, MA) has been able to video chat with the four scouts we met with over two years ago each week this summer. My scouts have enjoyed this more than anyone could imagine. Please do not stop taking that trip with Etown students; it has certainly impacted me, and has cause a ripple effect with dozens of scouts in New England. These scouts are now excited to learn about cultures outside of the US, and several troops are planning high adventure trips to Europe to meet with other scouts — all because they experience a bit from this. Again, thank you for exposing me to another world.
