{"id":5,"date":"2019-02-11T14:51:52","date_gmt":"2019-02-11T14:51:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/facultysites.etown.edu\/degoedek\/?page_id=5"},"modified":"2024-07-09T18:29:10","modified_gmt":"2024-07-09T18:29:10","slug":"teaching","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/facultysites.etown.edu\/degoedek\/teaching\/","title":{"rendered":"Teaching"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I love the opportunity I have at Elizabethtown to teach across the curriculum to both 1st-semester students in all disciplines of engineering and 4th-year students in the Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering concentrations.<\/p>\n<p>I enjoy being part of a great team of faculty at Elizabethtown looking to keep our curriculum evolving, taking advantage of new technologies and pedagogies to continuously enhance the program. \u00a0I teach using an active\/coaching style in the classroom focused on applying the material in the class together. \u00a0I&#8217;ve published numerous papers on engineering teaching pedagogy and thoroughly enjoy mentoring students. \u00a0 I am the faculty mentor to the ASME student chapter and the Etown Cross Country team.<\/p>\n<p>I have developed an MBL assessment model that has been adopted by faculty across our department and the country. We have run 10+ workshops at individual schools (Dartmouth, Arizona State, Puerto Rico, and more), ASEE, and most recently through the KEEN network: at the <a href=\"https:\/\/engineeringunleashed.com\/card\/3840\">national meeting<\/a> and as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/learningevents.engineeringunleashed.com\/bundles\/learning-from-failure-with-mastery-based-learning-lff-july-2024\">summer faculty training program<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I love the opportunity I have at Elizabethtown to teach across the curriculum to both 1st-semester students in all disciplines of engineering and 4th-year students in the Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering concentrations.
