Service

INTRODUCTION:

I am an active member of the Department of Biology and the college.  Last year I chaired the Professional Development Committee and served on the advisory board for the Center for Global Understanding and Peacemaking.  I am also active in my professional field through review of manuscripts and involvement in the local science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) mentoring network.  I also serve the broader Elizabethtown community by serving through my church and as a member of the Humanitarian Committee for the local non-profit organization, Brittany’s Hope Foundation.

SERVICE-LEARNING TRIP TO VIETNAM:

Spending time with my sponsor daughter, Ly.

Every other year I co-lead a May-term service learning trip to Vietnam in partnership with the local non-profit organization, Brittany’s Hope Foundation.  Elizabethtown College students, faculty and other adults spend 2 weeks in Vietnam serving in a variety of orphanages and exploring the culture of Vietnam.
