 <\/p>\n\n\n

Dr. Tara Moore directs the English Professional Writing Program<\/a> and the First Year Writing Program at Elizabethtown College. <\/p>\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n

She teaches several classes on workplace writing: Technical Writing, Business Writing, and Word, Web and Design.\u00a0 These courses emphasize professionalism and becoming adept navigators of new media and savvy writing.<\/p>\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n

She is a member of the Association of Business Communication and a regional coordinator for the Jane Austen Society of North America. She follows trends in AI and writing and Austen studies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moore also writes about the YA lit she loves to read and the cultural meanings that matter to her.  These include representations of powerful girls in dystopias and portrayals of adoptive families. Her essays appear in collections and journals like The ALAN Review <\/em>and SIGNAL<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has led several study abroad courses that introduced students to the landscapes and architecture that inspired major British writers. <\/p>\n\n\n

Dr. Moore has also published several books about Christmas culture.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moore’s Christmas research has taken her to interesting places: Christmas shops in Copenhagen and Belsnickle meet-and-greets in Lancaster County.  She has gathered Christmas-related research during trips to China, Iceland, and Scandinavia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
