Tentative Dates: May 13 – June 3 2025
Who can go: all Etown students and 2025 graduates; friends of Etown students can also attend as a Visiting Student of Etown (talk to Registration and Records)
Where we’ll go: We’ll start in Dublin, then have several days in Galway, including an overnight at a beach-side glamping site. Next we move on to Killarney, then to beautiful Cork, before returning to Dublin for our departure.
Cultural highlights–well, there are too many to share everything here! But we will mention some iconic experiences you can expect:

- Trinity College tour and the Book of Kells
- Ring of Kerry tour
- Cliffs of Moher
- National Horse Stud Farm tour
- Blarney Castle
- Rock of Cashel
- Traditional music experiences
Class information: You can earn Creative Expression Core credit by enrolling in the CE EN101 Travel Writing – Ireland class taught on the trip.
Course elements include class participation during the trip, an Instagram journal of your trip activities, short exploratory/creative pieces written in Ireland, and a portfolio of more polished pieces submitted in the weeks following your return. We’ll be seeing amazing sights, so you’ll have plenty to write about in these short pieces!
Participants can opt to enroll in the course or they can opt to simply join the trip.
All trip participants will attend 4-5 spring meetings before departure and will complete trip assignments. If you cannot make a pre-departure meeting, you can meet with an instructor to gather missed information. Some meetings may be recorded.
