Tipping in the UK: At restaurants, tip nothing or up to 10% max if the service was great AND if there is no “service charge” on the bill. Tipping is not a required part of eating out in the UK.

Travel with American Airlines means you can bring the following:
- 1 free checked bag ($100 ea. for additional checked bags–stick to one!)
- 1 free carry on
- 1 free purse/lap carry on
Return Flight from UK
As of Aug. 2023, returning flights from the UK must comply with these rules, which differ from American airport procedure:
“If you do take liquids in your hand luggage:
- containers must hold no more than 100ml
- containers must be in a single, transparent, resealable plastic bag, which holds no more than a litre and measures approximately 20cm x 20cm
- contents must fit comfortably inside the bag so it can be sealed
- the bag must not be knotted or tied at the top
- you’re limited to 1 plastic bag per person
- you must show the bag at the airport security point”
Take a plastic bag for this return flight.
Hotel Details
Our hotels do not have AC or lifts/elevators (the London one should have lifts). Most hotels have spotty wifi–it will be better in the lobby than in the rooms. Some hotels will not have a USB charger, so you’ll need a least one converter charger per set of roommates.
Our hotels are all in excellent, safe locations. The first three are delightful, small place. The third is a much larger place. Breakfast will be filling.
